    What is eyebrow plucking? 


Eyebrow Plucking  is a technique of removing isolated hairs, on the chin, or between the eyebrows with the use of tweezers.

Your eyes will appear larger and your face will get a clean and polished look with eyebrow plucking and shaping.

Plucking is considered to be the good alternative for shaping eyebrows, even as some women prefer waxing.


      Tips to pluck your eyebrows

Before plucking you must get out of the shower so as to make it easier to pull out your hairs.

It will be a good idea to pluck eyebrows just before going to bed so that redness caused by plucking will disappear overnight. You can use your facial features to shape your eyebrows.

In case the hairs are too long, it is advisable to trim them with manicure scissors. Trimming can make a difference. In fact it is good to trim before plucking.

Anaesthetize the brow area by applying an astringent such as witch hazel before you go for plucking your eyebrow. This is one of the best eyebrow plucking tips. 


    Determine the shape for your eyebrows.

After brushing your eyebrows into place, remove stray hairs lying underneath the eyebrow arch and also anything else outside the natural brow line.

Pluck the hairs below the brow with the use of a pair of angled eyebrow tweezers. Avoid shaping your brow by plucking above it. Make sure to pluck one hair at a time.

Apply some thick face or body cream all over your eyebrow. Avoid rubbing it in. The cream will help soften up not only follicle but also the actual hair. It will also make your face soft altogether.

While plucking your eyebrows, use a large mirror to see an overall picture. Some people use a magnifying mirror or a compact to have a look at their whole brow, without bothering to know how it looks.

If you feel pain with  eyebrow plucking , you must lightly put some Anbesol (the stuff used for cold sores) on your eye lids before you start. You can also place ice cubes on your eyelids to numb the area, just before plucking.


    Which tweezer to choose for plucking eyebrows ?

The head of the tweezer must be sharp and pointy. M ake sure that it pinches are tightly closed. Use a pair of tweezers which can have a firm grip over the hair and don’t . slip every time you start to pluck. Tweezer without a tight grip can not grab unwanted hair effectively. Following are the types of tweezers:

Thin Tip Tweezer  : This type of tweezer can effectively grasp small, fine hairs, and pluck ingrown hair.

Slanted Tip Tweezer  : Gives maximum control.

 Square Tip Tweezer   : This type of tweezer can be used for removing coarse hairs or several hairs at a time.


    What to do if over plucked?

In case you have over-plucked your eyebrows, you would better select a natural looking brown eye shadow and apply it lightly and evenly with the help of an eyebrow brush consisting of firm bristles. Apply it by using short sharp strokes across the brow.

Since regrown hairs are often difficult to manage, it is advisable to apply a light coat of clear mascara to help keep them in place.

Avoid opting for the periodic fashions for highly plucked eyebrows. The fashions don't last for long while eyebrows can take ages to regrow!

It can be a good idea to stick with the eyebrow shape that you are having since your birth. Rather focus on removal of stray hairs in the areas underneath the arch and between the brows.
