What is eyebrow brush?
An eyebrow brush usually has an angle shaped design that can be used to perfectly apply eye brush powder. First tap your eyebrow brush into the eyebrow powder of whichever color you want.
After beginning from the larger part of your eyebrow, work your way out to the end. The eyebrow is so shaped as to give you a nice even and straight line, which can hardly be done through eyebrow pencil. Moreover eyebrow brush is easy to hand and works perfectly.
Steps on how to use eyebrow brush
Step 1: Get your eyebrows professionally waxed at a salon. Avoid going to those cheap manicure and pedicure "salons' which are in strip malls. It will only take one eyebrow-scarring experience for learning this lesson the hard way. You can get a guideline for future plucking and tweezing from a good brow wax.
Step 2: Go to local department store or the cosmetics counter to buy a brow bush along with a comb. Always take a quality brush. If you want to save money, you can find an affordable brush at your local drugstore. You can use angled brow brush for adding color. Thin brush with firm bristles can be used for brow management.
Step 3: Tweeze stray hairs in between waxing and then move a brush across the brow, which is in the opposite direction of hair growth. You can create a clean brow line by tweezing or plucking any new or stray hairs. Avoid plucking too much as it may create an outdated thin brow look.
Step 4: Choose an eyebrow color, which suits to your natural hair color. Select a color with two shades lighter than color of your hair if your hair color is brown, red or black. In case your hair color is light or platinum blond, you would better go two shades darker to get a dramatic look. In case of any doubt, it is better to choose a medium shade of brown, which works for just about any hair color.
Step 5: After beginning in the middle of the brow, work your way to the outside. Concentrate on the areas of the brow having thin or light hair and fill them with short strokes. Build color with application of several light layers.
Step 6: Fill the areas, which require more color or more definition, with the use of an eyebrow pencil. Avoid a harsh-looking upper eye line by using the pencil sparingly.
Step 7: Create a softer look by smudging the color. While using short strokes, run the angled brush from the inner brow to the outer brow.
Types of eyebrow brushes:
Angled Brow Brush- This type of brush is considered to be a perfect option for filling in and accurately placing powder. It has a natural bristle and is slightly stiffer than powder puff brush. This type of brush helps in even application of brow powder with a stencil. In addition to this, the angled tip makes it easy to perfectly apply powder freehand.
Brow Comb/Brush Combo-Long Handle & Short Handle - This type of brush is used for brow shaping and daily grooming. It has a comb on one side and brush on the other side. It can be used to flip quickly between pulling hairs through the stencil hole before brushing them flat over the stencil area. You can choose between the short handled or long handled brow comb/brush.
Nylon Powder Brush - This type of brush can be used for many applications.
Powder Puff Brush- This type of brush is perfect for evenly darkening and dispersing powder. This brush is hand shaped which has the advantage of preserving the natural tip for holding and transferring our brow powders.
Overall Tips & Warnings
Your eye area is very delicate and therefore you must avoid breakouts by cleaning your brow brush every couple of weeks. Regular cleaning also extends the life of your brush.
Selecting a right brush
Find an eye shadow brush. The right brush should comprise full, soft bristles and head with a size of your index finger. You can sweep base color across your lids with the use of this brush.
If you are applying eye shadow to the crease of your eyelids, you must splurge and take a soft, pencil-shaped brush.
Buy an eyeliner brush. Select a thin brush consisting of firm bristles and a flat head. Firm bristles constitute the main part of eyeliner brush. For sharp, concise lines, you should select a brush comprising firm yet soft bristles.
Get an angled eyebrow brush. Look for a brush having roughly the size of your pinkie finger and comprising moderately stiff bristles. You can use a separate eyebrow comb for the purposes of grooming and plucking every day.
Eyebrow Brush Powder
Though may people prefer to use an eyebrow pencil, yet the eye brush powder not only gives a more natural look to your face but also helps you fill in the spots, which are hard so see. In addition to this eyebrow brush powder helps fill up the part where your eyebrows are a little bare or you want to add little more color.
